Waterfront fun is the main attraction at Evergreen, with 1,000 feet of perfect beach and a gradually-sloping sandy lake bottom for safe swimming fun. Many other activities are yours for the enjoying, too!

 

The tennis court/pickleball court, basketball, volleyball, soccer and baseball field, hiking trails and shuffleboard courts all offer choices for family games.  Our disk golf and soccer golf course will add another challenge.

 

The Heartland bike trail may be accessed approximately 3 miles from the resort. Itasca State Park is a must see place and is only 20 miles.

 

FIRE PITS

Several fire pits are located along the lakefront and are shared by all guests. Firewood is supplied at no charge. Please use our fire pits reasonably and safely.

 

FISHING

Big Sand is 1660 acres with much structure and excellent walleye reproduction. Check with the Minnesota DNR for changes in slot limits. Northerns, large or smallmouth bass, and some panfish are also in the lake, but no crappies. May and June fishing is best. We DO NOT SELL fishing licenses or bait.

 

HIKING & BIKING
Park Rapids has several good hiking and biking areas suitable for both individual and family use. The Heartland Trail, a 50 mile multi-use trail that stretches from Park Rapids to Walker, with rest stops at Dorset and Nevis.

 

Itasca State Park, a must-see place for anyone new to the area, is just 20 miles away. It also has excellent hiking and biking trails, plus the Headwaters of the Mississippi River and other historic sites. Rental bikes, canoes, boats and picnic areas are also available.

 

Evergreen has several hiking areas, but NO BIKE TRAILS. We ask that bikes be kept on roadways only, NOT ON sidewalks, tennis or shuffleboard court, or grassy areas, please.

 

TENNIS COURT
The tennis court area is open for tennis, pickleball or basketball.  Equipment is available.

The court may be reserved for 1 hour at a time. A sign-up sheet is in the Lodge.

 

SOCCER/FRISBEE GOLF

Nine holes of each, Soccer and Frisbee Golf are open for play. Equipment is available at the Lodge.

 

WATERCRAFT

A 9.9hp or 15hp motor with a 14 foot Lund boat may be rented for the week or the day. A 14-foot Lund boat is available for rent if you are bringing your own motor. There is generally one dock space available per cabin.

 

Single and double kayaka, canoes, and paddle-boards, all may be used at no charge.

 

Required life jackets are provided also free of charge. Infant to 4X sizes life jackets are available.

 

There is also a pontoon available for rent which will hold a maximum of fourteen people.

Guests are welcome to bring their own watercraft with one exception. We DO NOT ALLOW JET SKIS. Most guests approve that policy and are happy to comply.
